BCC Optical Stabilizer error in FCP

While using BCC Optical Stabilizer in Final Cut Pro you may get the following error:

To ensure optimum stabilization, please set your preview window to full resolution before analyzing.

When this message appears you are not able to analyze the clip.

There are two things you need to do.

1. Make sure your canvas window is set to 100%

2. In your sequence settings make sure your frame rate and resolution on the render tab are set to 100%(see image below).

There have also been some instances where the filter will not work if you apply it to a clip that does not match the sequence settings. In this case you need to nest the clip in another sequence and then cut that sequence in as a clip before applying the filter.

  1. Thanks for the tip, I recently got this warning and Google brought me here.

I had the warning was because I had an HDV clip on a ProRes timeline. (HDV is 1440 not true 1920...)

Creating a ProRes nest with the HDV clip was enough to allow analyzing to occur.

    Thanks again!
